Awards TFG/TFM
Award for the best Final Degree Project (TFG) or Final Master's Project (TFM) in the Application of Artificial Intelligence and BIM Models in the construction sector
The UPC-HP chair announces the first edition of the awards for the best Final Degree Project (TFG) and Final Master's Project (TFM) whose theme is in the field of the application of artificial intelligence and BIM models in the construction sector, which has been carried out throughout the 2023/2024 academic years in a bachelor's or master's degree from any school of the UPC.
Through these awards, the aim is to promote research in AI (artificial intelligence) applied to the construction sector, especially in the field of BIM models (Building Information Modeling). The aim is to promote work that can give rise to new lines of research in UPC groups and encourage collaboration with related companies, in addition to making the academic work of young researchers more visible.
Modalities and allowances
This call is intended for Final Degree Thesis (TFG) and Final Master's Thesis (TFM), with a grant of €1000 for the best Final Degree thesis or the best Final Master's thesis.
Student
Any student who has defended, or will defend, their TFG or TFM in the 2024/2025 academic year in a bachelor's or master's degree from any School of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia will be eligible for the prize in this call.
Submission deadline
The submission period for works begins on the date of publication of the awards and ends on May 31, 2025.
Presentation form
Works may be submitted in Catalan, Spanish and English. A single PDF file containing all parts of the work must be submitted.
Evaluation criteria
The projects must be original and may be written in Catalan, Spanish or English. The evaluation criteria for the works are:
Relevance in the application of artificial intelligence and BIM models in the construction sector.
Quality and originality of the work.
Quality of the methodology used and the established objectives.
Potential impact, application and social interest of the contributions.
Degree of innovation.
Selection committee
The selection committee will be made up of representatives of the UPC-HP chair and three HP members:

HP Director, Ms. África Leal.
HP Innovation Lead, Mr. Juan Pedro Gil.
HP AI Lead, Mr. Miquel Ferrer.
Resolution
The awarding body is the UPC-HP Chair. The awards will be presented at the first day of HP FutureBuild: Innovation & Technology in the AEC Sector, which will take place on June 30, 2025 at the UPC facilities in Barcelona. The finalists will receive free invitations to attend the event.
